Being regular visitors to Goa, we stay in different places in Goa, we try different restaurants, we try different adventures and we also love staying at different hotels to get a feel of newness every time. This time, we set out for North Goa and decided to stay right near Calangute beach.

Searched for the best hotel and found Calangute Grande in one of the result lists. We did not book it online. We contacted the hotel over phone in hope of a good deal and got a really a good deal for 4 nights. They charged 2200 INR for AC Deluxe rooms per night. It was really a great deal for us.

Location: The hotel has an awesome location. It is located right on the main road behind Calangute beach. It is hardly 1 KM from the beach. That’s actually good as you can take a swim in the sea and just walk for 5 mins back to your hotel. Hey, you will get scooty/ bike rental shops just beside the hotel.

Decor: The hotel looks pretty decent. It’s neat and clean and has a very sophisticated appearance. The lighting,especially, is very soothing.

Room: The rooms are spacious, well-planned. We also got balconies in each room, though not too big. The rooms had all necessary stuffs. The washrooms were also super clean and neat. The beds were pretty clean and comfortable. Had good and peaceful sleeps.

Swimming Pool: The hotel has a wonderful standard-sized swimming pool in the back side with beds placed beside it. Spent some good hours in the pool and relaxed there.

Restaurant: The hotel offers complimentary breakfast to its guests. The food quality is really good. Had both veg and non-veg options. We liked the mushroom preparation the most during our stay. They also have lunch and dinner options.

Service: Needs special mention. Room service is 5-star. The staffs were quick to respond and were really courteous. This one is rare in most other hotels. Trust me.

Parking: The hotel has a decent parking space for two-wheelers.

Pros: Cleanliness, Location, Service
Cons: Not enough space for four-wheeler parking. Don’t know if they have some other place for parking. Decent two-wheeler parking space.

Final comment: If you find good deals online, well and good. Else call the hotel desk directly. They will listen to you and won’t disappoint you. Highly recommended.

Tips: 

• Choose a room with sea-view/ pool view
• Rent a scooty from the shop right beside hotel
• Check with the hotel once for parking availability, if travelling with 4-wheeler
